Busy times are ahead for our (retail) customers. During peak hours it really helps them customers to be able to easily extend their in-store checkout possibilities. To provide some aid in this matter we have optimized the retail application from our omnichannel solution for the iPad.
At Serac we’ve been busy testing the new functionality of SAP Business One version 10. During the Acceptance Testing period we worked together closely with the product development department from SAP. Through this cooperation we are able to directly influence the future enhancements of SAP Business One. As we speak, the testing period was concluded successfully and we are happy to announce the release date of version 10!
Vacation’s over! Hot weather, customers and colleague’s constantly on a holiday, and you yourself need a break as well. All proper reasons for taking it a little slower at the office. Despite this, Serac has delivered some nice projects during the holiday period.
Combines the power of SAP Business One with the world’s leading issue tracking and project management tool. The JIRA Timesheet add-on for SAP Business One Integrates the Project Management Module from SAP Business One with timesheets in JIRA (Tempo Timesheet app).
In order to distribute sales invoices Serac now offers a solution, integrated with SAP Business One, to send out XML-format invoices using the UBL 2.1 standard.
Staying relevant in wholesale

Wolters Kluwer wants to improve their purchase-to-pay process employees, while enabling employees, who do not have access to the SBO-system, to approve incoming invoices. In addition to this, a more strict procedure was necessary on the creation and updating of supplier master data. This was particularly important for changes in bank accounts and business registration numbers in order to prevent fraude.
Swoop, one of the leading Refurbished retails of the Netherlands, chooses Serac’s Omnichannel Service (OMS) solution. Swoop sells refurbished Samsung and Apple tablets, laptops and phones, but is also known for her quick repairservice for these products. To support and further the enormous growth of the past years, Swoop chooses Serac’s Business One OMS solution.
On Friday, June 9th, Serac, SAP Business One partner of the year, sponsors the infamous Run Like Never Before relay-race fort he Richard Krajicek foundation. Serac participates with two teams. Bowltech, European leader when it comes to Bowling lanes and Bowling products, with locations in 9 countries, has chosen for Serac as SAP-partner in 2016. On March 30th, Amac announced the takeover of 24 iCentre stores. Serac has been Amac’s SAP Business One / IT-partner since 2010, and was asked to integrate the 24 iCentre stores in Amac’s SAP Business One omnichannel concept on March 31st.
In January 2017, Partex Oil & Gas went live with SAP Business One. Partex is an international oil and gas company, and occupies itself with exploration, development, production and sales of oilproducts. Partex has chosen SAP Business One to enable data-exchange between all different entitities and investments under the holding. Among others, the following entities are set up and live with SAP Business One: Amsterdam, Angola, Algeria, Oman, Kazakhstan and Abu Dhabi. Partex Oil & Gas has chosen for Serac’s Private Cloud, so SAP Business One is available worldwide.
VnS Group’s new webshop went live! Due to several previous take-overs, this stampgiant from Houten had several webshops with their own databases, price-lists, users, etc. Because the price-differences between webshop, overlapping users, and obsolete techniques and designs, it was decided to combine everything and proceed with one webshop: www.stempelshop.nl.
Visser & Visser has chosen for Serac because of the Serac Magento integration with SAP Business One. Because the number of orders through her webshop is increasing, Visser & Visser has decided to integrate the existing Magento webshop completely with SAP Business One. Since November 15th, all orders from municipalities and other (semi-) government organisations, contractors and gardeners are automatically added in realtime to SAP Business One by the Magento Connector. To generate more revenu and customer satisfaction through her online channel, Visser & Visser will soon take the SAP Business One Portal in operation.
Since February this year Keyser and Mackay (K&M) is hosted at Serac’s Private Cloud. To create the perfect professional environment, K&M has also decided to replace all existing harware (desktops, laptops, printers, routers, etc) in all their seven European locations. In September and October, Serac’s team of specialists has successfully delivered over 100 workstations to the end-users in (amog others) Paris, Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam. With extensive preparations, the workstations were set up in advance according to K&M’s wishes. Therefor, implementing these new workstations did not disturb the regular business operations. During visits to all locations, our specialists have also completely reconfigured the internal network. Serac completely unburdens K&M when it comes to IT.
DaSilva Beans & Leafs has opened a pop-up store in the old V&D building in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Here you will find, among others, a Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen dealer and many other quality pop-up stores like Schaap & Citroen and B&O. DaSilva offers you the best Bossche coffee and tea. DaSilva, a satisfied Serac customer, has chosen Reatil XML (the integrated SAP Business One retailsolution) for the financial and logistic processes of their freshly roasted coffee and premium tea.
Switch is a Belgian Apple Premium Reseller (APR) with 14 shops and is, after the APRs from the Netherlands, Ireland and England, the next APR to choose Serac’s Omnichannel solution. This Belgian APR sells more than just Apple products. Switch wants to offer her customers a complete solution with for example the Macacademy. Next to offering complete solutions for her customers, Switch wants to serve her customers optimally through all possible channels. Which is exactly what Serac’s Omnichannel concept encompasses.
On May 12th, 2016, Keyser & Mackay launched her new international website. A modern website for a company with a lot of history since 1894. Keyser & Mackay is an international wholesaler, specialised in the distribution of chemical materials and related machinery. The company represents over 100 suppliers and supplies thousands of customers. The new website leads customers and prospects within two clicks to the correct industry and will immediately show them the contact-information of their contact. Serac made a complete overhaul of the design, and implemented it in this new website.
Serac successfully implemented a new Magento webshop and SAP Business One Portal for Belned. Belned specializes in products for glazing and supplies painters, glazers and contractors throughout the Netherlands. Furthermore, Belned offers a complete assortment of ledges, window screens, vents, glazing products, glues and tools. Both the B2B webshop as the Portal are completely integrated with SAP Business One.
On Thursday June 9th 2016 the brand new webshop of Compu b was launched. By integrating the Magento Connector with SAP Business One, Compu b will be able to send all possible data between SAP Business One and Magento in realtime. Stock, images, products; all correctly updated realtime, while maintaining data in one central application. Products with many different colors and storage capacity are no longer a problem for Compu b.
By taking Scanning XML and the Warehouse Module in SAP Business One into operation, Dimensio made an enormous improvement to the efficiency of her logistical process. Serac, together with Dimensio, optimised the logistical process by using bin locations, barcoding and handheld scanners. Handheld scanners are used for all stock movements in the warehouse with 15.000 pallet locations, and are instantly processed by SAP Business One. Digital picklists on the scanner provide the orderpicker with a realtime overview of the goods to be picked, and are processed by SAP Business One in real-time.
7131 kilometers away from Serac, just before the holidays, DSM Corridor Group in Tanzania had a successful go-live with SAP Business One. DSM Corridor Group chose Serac’s full service offer and will be using our Private Cloud services. The complete IT-environment will be hosted in our datacenter in Amsterdam. DSM Corridor Group has been located in the harbor of Dar es Salaam since 2004. The company offers logistical solutions for shipments of non-liquid dry bulk and mining.
On Thursday December 3rd, on request of the VNSG, Serac hosted a session about stock management at SAP in Den Bosch. During this interactive session, the practical uses of stock management in SAP Business One were highlighted to a group of experienced SAP Business One users. With functionalities as MRP, ATP, forecasting and drop shipment, you as a company can achieve high turnover rates, low stock value, fast shipments and efficient processing of returns. The VNSG is a group of active SAP Business One users, who meet periodically to exchange user experiences.
Keyser & Mackay replaces Archie CRM software by the standard CRM module in SAP Business One. The expansion of CRM-functionalities in SAP Business One, combined with the integration of Microsoft Outlook, were decisive for Keyser & Mackay to replace their CRM software Archie.
To better serve their retail customers online, Lehmanns has implemented the SAP Business One Portal. Lehmanns’ Portal is fully integrated into the Magento webshop, which presents every customer with one online environment. This results in better online service for Lehmanns’ retail customers. Lehmanns can inform bookshops directly about new collections. The Portal also enables the showing a top 10 of ordered books, based on order history of the past months. Productlists like this are dynamic and can be generated per customer, based on criteria set in SAP Business One.
BIOWORLD is a revolutionary, international company which develops lifestyle products for a large group of entertainment-, fashion- and sportsbrands. Her most important product groups are clothing and fashion accessoires. Serac Applications B.V. supports BIOWORLD with her logistic processes and marketing activities by implementing a fully integrated connection between their webshop and SAP Business One using the Magento Connector.
In April 2015 a completely new BwB-webshop was launched. Serac’s Fashion add-on eases the creation and management of fashion products in SAP and enables a connection with configurable products in Magneto. BIOWORLD uses Serac’s Autodoc SAP/HSE addon to automatically e-mail and print documents from SAP Business One
In order to take care of the increased ordervolume, due to the newly and SAP integrated Magento Webshop, Lehmanns now introduced the Scanning XML module. Orders in SAP Business One are assigned a priority status and the pickers are managed by Scanning XML. From now on the flow of all goods in the warehouse will be managed by Scanning XML. During 2015, the SAP Business One Portal from Serac will be introduced. Hereby, bookstores who are supplied can gain insight in the status of orders, deliveries, invoices, reprint books etc.
Over the course of three months all shops of Lion Beddenshop have implemented the shop system Retail XML. The headquarter of Lion Beddenshop now has direct insight in all sales orders through SAP Business One. All central handling of logistics is being regulated centrally. To make sure the inventory in the central Warehouse is 100% up-to-date, Lion Beddenshop has also implemented Scanning XML for real time scanning of incoming and outgoing goods.
De Onderste BV sells pet supplies to animal shelters, veterinarians and individuals. De Onderste is the distributor of animal identification chips. All logistical and financial processes of De Onderste are handled in SAP Business One. Previously, the integration with the webshop and SAP Business One was very poor. Through the deployment of Magento XML from Serac the B2B and B2C webshops are fully managed and controlled from SAP Business One. This results in a better service at lower administrative expenses.
Hijman is an Amsterdam-based, nationally operating wholesaler of cleaning products. The company uses SAP Business One for all its business operations. Many cleaning companies buy supplies for all their cleaning addresses from Hijman, either in the store in Amsterdam or online. At the end of December 2013, Hijman migrated to the newest version of SAP Business One 9.0. This opportunity was also used to implement the comprehensive automation of the physical store using Retail XML. This allows goods to be paid for quickly at a normal checkout or on an iPad.
Lehmanns of Newcastle is one of the largest distributors of Jewish and Hebrew books in the world. More than 250,000 books are available from stock. Serac recently implemented an online store for Lehmanns using the Magento connector. The store is run and supplied entirely from within SAP Business One.
This year Serac has existed for 40 years. This is unique for a company in this relatively “young” sector. During the last 10 years, Serac has focussed exclusively on SAP. Serac is the only SAP partner to have produced SAP add-ons for 10 years that are developed in house: “Made in Holland”.
Serac and Hijman Schoonmaakartikelen have recently signed a long-term partnership agreement. Hijman's entire SAP Business One and Microsoft environment is now available continuously from the Serac computer centre. Web orders are now also processed efficiently in SAP Business One via the XML Webserver. The use of SAP Business One will be expanded and optimised even further with the introduction of SAP Business One version 9.0. With the implementation of Retail XML, B2B store processes will be further optimised from the end of 2013. This will allow Retail XML to be used on the iPad.
At the beginning of this year a complete new online TV store for Philips myshop was launched. Serac was responsible for setting up the store, the link with SAP Business One and hosting. Imagemakers from Den Bosch provided the design. Since then, hundreds of TVs have been ordered and processed with SAP logistics. The project was fine example of collaboration; this is reflected in the working time of just two weeks between commission and going live.
DaSilva Beans & Leafs was born from the desire for perfect coffee and tea. DaSilva strives for perfection. As an existing user of SAP Business One, DaSilva migrated to the Private Cloud from Serac. The SAP Business environment was recently modernised. Processing is carried out from the Serac computer centre.
At the end of 2012, Combulex Buizen went live with 25 SAP users. Combulex previously worked with a special package for the metal trade. Serac has developed several functions for wholesale in lots, processing of pipes, sorting of domestic lots and route planning for Combulex. Combulex is now able to react better than the competition to demand from the market and can carry out logistics more efficiently.
The fashion add-on from serac means that sap business one is now also suitable for clothing wholesale and retail companies. The fashion add-on supports colours and sizes in magento online stores.

Serac has recently developed an interface for the 2BA product file. A Magento online store with around 100,000 products for the installation sector can be generated automatically.
