Software Developer

Job description:

At Serac, you will continuously maintain and improve our standard software products and add-ons. We expect you to do both frontend and backend development. You will have the chance to design and build new web applications linked to other applications and systems, using HTML5 and related technologies. Larger customer specific projects for custom made products and functionality are specified in functional designs by our consultants, which you must then be able to translate further into technically well designed application code. An important aspect of this process is that you write clean and readable new code that is easily maintainable, and that you are encouraged to show insight and initiative when coming up with improvements for existing code.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or other technical Bachelor degree at college or university level
  • Object oriented and neat coding style as a basis
  • Experience with Java or C#
  • Experience with web applications and related technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX and CSS
  • Knowledge of database design/architecture and experience with SQL queries
  • Fluent in Dutch and English

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in (Technical) Computer Science at university level
  • At least 2 years of work experience as a software developer
  • Good insight into software architecture and code/class hierarchies
  • Extensive experience with Java or C#
  • Experience with web application frameworks such as SAP UI5, JQuery, or the Google Web Toolkit
  • Experience with PHP
  • Experience with object relational mapping and persistence frameworks such as Hibernate
  • Knowledge of SAP Business One or other ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Magento or other e-commerce systems
  • Experience with Eclipse or similar IDE
